How things transform from one idea to another
Think of it this way.
On social media, what arrives in your feed changes as what you search and watch changes. The same goes for the ads that appear on websites from places where you opted out of accepting cookies. The browser has a mind if its own is at work.
All that is similar to how ideas flow in this writer’s mind. Where I bring myself, my mind aka my browser, will be absorbed, noted, and analyzed. When my brain reacts to a place it senses that I like, it will inspire me to continue in those environments.
My writer’s block is not about me lacking motivation or ideas. It is my body chemicals not being in line with the stimulation that holds the pen in my hand. I hope that makes sense. Think. Eating too much makes me feel bloated and dull from how my body chemicals react to what I ate.
Determination can be the force to help me write if I feel up to allowing myself room to do that. As it happens, my success writing daily, keeping up with the process, has not been good. I have been told I have talent, that I am a good writer. Yet, when I posted stories on another blog, there was silence where an audience should be at least breathing.
Depressing that is, very. I stopped posting stories. The feeling of rejection grew thick like moss in a shaded forest.
Writing enthusiasm happens in waves. None of those waves have given me a good ride to shore. I just hop off and go about my way.
The best thing to do is to have a dedicated writing space with a comfortable chair where I write daily. Setting a routine, from all I’ve read, feels to me the right solution for writer’s block, slump or a sloppy writing attitude.
That is how my ideas transform from one to another. Setting the right path.
