Writing: Entering a new phase
The decision has been made.
Clear off the desk, pin up a schedule calendar, pin up a character list, and set 3 hour daily writing sessions. Sessions can be morning or afternoon for current story only.
Add extra time for new story ideas and old story editing once a week that’s not included in session hours.
Every week, review progress. Make adjustments. Set deadlines for 3 sections: part 1 build to climax; part 2 climax; part 3 ending.
My goal is to train myself to be organized, set my mind to defined creative spaces instead of flowing with serendipity as the mood arises. Writing is not a skip through a field of wildflowers. Although it can feel that way, that isn’t dependable enough for me to manage my enthusiasm well. I can get too easily distracted.
On August 19th, a month from now, I’ll post a progress update. In that time, a story installment will be posted each week.
